I’ve always just used traditional oven mitts & hot pads when I bake, but was intrigued by the possibility of using the Biblus BBQ Silicone BBQ glove, since it allows me to use my fingers individually and is a LOT easier to rinse off when I inevitably get food on it. And it’s met all my expectations!
The gloves are large enough for my husband’s large hands, but I don’t feel swallowed by them when I use them either. They are well made, thin enough to use easily but thick enough to easily insulate me from heat. I can pick up a cast iron skillet or dish from the hottest oven settings without any difficulty. I do feel a little warmth through the glove but it’s completely comfortable.
I really appreciate the little hole on the sleeve of the glove for hanging it – it fits right through an S hook so I can hang it above my stove with my pots & pans. I imagine some buyers may want some kind of larger loop or hook included with the glove, however, in case they just want to hang it on a nail or something (it would be hard to put these gloves right on a nail without an extra hook).
Also, from an aesthetic standpoint, I love the red hearts all over the glove (instead of boring bumps like other silicone gloves I’ve seen). And it goes with my yellow & red kitchen colors perfectly!
All in all, I’m thrilled with these gloves, and have been happily using them instead of my old oven mitts ever since I got them. I’m sure they’re great for an outdoor BBQ too, but I like them indoors just fine!
